The Audit
Every Decision Audit is designed to achieve one objective:
To improve the quality of the decision by improving the quality of its examination.
Rather than focusing on the outcome alone, the audit focuses on the structure of the decision itself.
The Decision Audit method focuses on four areas:
Signal vs Noise | Distinguishing the real factors that influence the outcome from those that create distraction or unnecessary complexity.
Constraints | Identifying what is fixed, what is flexible, and where assumptions may be limiting available options.
Reversibility | Understanding which consequences can be adjusted, corrected, or revisited, and which may be more difficult to change later.
Consequence | Evaluating the realistic significance of potential outcomes and ensuring that attention is allocated accordingly.
Together, these considerations help create a clearer picture of the decision landscape.
The Process
1. Reserve & Briefly Outline
During your booking, you will be invited to provide a short summary of the situation you would like to examine.
A concise description is sufficient.
The purpose is not to provide a complete account, but to ensure that the session begins with appropriate context.
2. Decision Audit Session
Duration: 90 minutes
Format: Private video session*
During the session, the decision is examined systematically using the audit framework.
The focus remains on the decision itself, including its assumptions, limitations, alternatives, risks, and consequences.
Clients should expect careful questioning, structured exploration of the decision, and a consistent focus on what genuinely affects the outcome.
By the end of the session, the decision landscape becomes clearer and more structured.
3. Consolidation & Direction
Within 48 hours, you receive a written summary.
This typically includes:
• Key considerations identified during the session
• Decision framing observations
• Relevant risks and constraints
• Areas requiring further consideration
• A structured basis for next steps
The purpose of the summary is to provide a clear reference point following the session.
You are not left with “insight.”
You leave with greater orientation.
Flexible Formats
Most audits are completed through a private video or audio session, followed by a written summary.
Where greater discretion is preferred, audio-only sessions are perfectly acceptable, and additional privacy considerations can be accommodated where appropriate.
Some decisions cannot wait for standard availability.
Where external deadlines are involved, a limited number of Time-Sensitive Decision Audits are reserved each week.
These appointments are intended for situations where timing itself affects the decision and are offered subject to availability.
